On 28-30 August 2006, COATNET held a Workshop on Prevention of Trafficking in Human Beings. Participants from seven countries
(Armenia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Ireland, Slovenia, Sri Lanka and Ukraine) met in Prague to make an assessment of COATNET
activities implemented in the field of trafficking prevention, to identify directions for future cooperation and to foster
joint prevention work among COATNET partners. Representatives of the Ministry of Interior in Czech Republic, the NGO La Strada
and International Organisation for Migration joined the workshop to exchange their trafficking prevention experience.
The workshop participants started the process for creating a COATNET good practice pool on prevention. Besides, they discussed
the tools and mechanisms for carrying out awareness raising campaigns. The workshop's conclusions and recommendations will
help to improve the work of COATNET not only in the field of trafficking prevention, but also other directions pursued by
the network.
